Adrenaline Dodge against Raptors in Lost Valley in Anniversary.

Introduction

The Adrenaline Dodge is a combat mechanism found in Anniversary. When Lara shoots certain animal enemies, they get enraged and charge at her, giving a brief period of time in which to dodge and deliver a fatal headshot. The Adrenaline Dodge was necessary for winning nearly all (if not all) of the boss battles in the game, in addition to being triggered fairly frequently during normal combat.

How to Use the Adrenaline Dodge

-Check the combat settings of the game. The Adrenaline Dodge is easier to execute when the combat mode is set to "Advanced Toggle." On other combat settings, you are required to hold down more buttons at once which may make it more difficult than it needs to be.

-The first thing to do is to shoot an enemy and keep shooting it until it gets enraged (signified by an orange flash over its head while it roars at you). If you are having trouble concentrating Lara's fire on a single enemy, then do not adjust the camera while fighting. If you leave the camera alone, it should follow the enemy Lara is targeting and she won't switch targets (moving the camera abruptly causes her to change targets in the direction that you moved the camera).

-When the enemy is enraged, it will charge at you. Stop firing your weapons. Run to the side while it is charging. When it gets very close, keep moving to the side and also press the roll/dodge button while moving. Lara will leap to the side in slow motion.

-Do not shoot yet. Wait for two white targeting reticules to appear. They will overlap each other. When that happens, they will turn red and you will hear a beep, so shoot immediately. If you timed it correctly, Lara should deliver a headshot which is fatal to all of the normal enemies and does a fair amount of damage to the bosses.
