General Information
The Cabal is a secret society that features in The Angel of Darkness.
Led by the 14th Century Black Alchemist Pieter Van Eckhardt, the group work in clandestine to revive the Nephilim race in order to achieve immortality as a reward.
Other than Eckhardt, the group consists of four other members:
In an interview with Executive Producer Adrian Smith, it's suggested that Eckhardt's Cabal has existed almost as long as he has.
Timeline
Unlike Eckhardt, the members of the Cabal were not immortal - and it's likely that the first Cabal was defeated by the Lux Veritatis, an order of warrior-monks connected to the Knights Templar, after Eckhardt's imprisonment in 1442.
After Eckhardt escaped, he sought to recreate his Cabal with a group of new members.
- Kristina Boaz became the Head of Corrective and Remedial Surgery at the Strahov, where it's also clear she was conducting genetic experimentation with Nephilim DNA on unsuspecting victims.
- Marten Gunderson led a band of mercenaries for the Cabal.
- Dr. Grant Muller lead the Botanical Research Facility within the Strahov, and like Kristina Boaz, also tampered with Nephilim DNA.
- Joachim Karel assured himself the important position within the Cabal, overseeing the investments and recruitment of the group.
Deaths
Kristina Boaz dies after undergoing metamorphosis into Boaz-Fly. She is beheaded by Kurtis Trent.
Dr. Grant Muller is killed by Kristina Boaz whilst she is in an incomplete stage of metamorphosis as the Boaz-Pod.
Joachim Karel's death is uncertain. He's caught directly in a blast of energy which destroys The Sleeper. However, an interview with Executive Producer Adrian Smith revealed that Karel survived the event and became the primary villain in the unmade seventh Tomb Raider game: The Angel of Darkness 2.
