The city's largest mosque has been taken over both by the servants of Seth and Egyptian soldiers trying to keep the population on monsters under control. Lara must navigate her way through the mosque and surrounding buildings.

Summary

The level includes the square courtyard and buildings of the mosque of Ibn Tulun, the roofs above and a locked area on the far side of the entrance to the City of the Dead. It also has entrances to the Citadel Gate and to the Trenches.

The level is fairly easy to navigate, having few traps and a very simple structure. It acts mainly as a crossing point between the Cairo levels.

Notes

The Ibn Tulun Mosque is one of the oldest mosques in the world, and the largest in Cairo. It was commissioned by Ahmad Ibn Ţūlūn, the de facto governor of Cairo during the Abbassid period. Building work started in 876 CE and the mosque is said to have been completed in 879.
