Decorated Jackals

Decorated Jackals are the guardian beasts of Seth. The resemble the god himself, having black pelts and wear gold jewellery around their necks, tails, ears and around their paws. Their eyes glow bright red.

They are something of a mythical creature, but are not particularly strong, being only a little stronger than the ordinary breed of jackals that also lurk around the Tomb of Seth.

Not only are the decorated jackals guardians of the Burial Chambers but they also guard the Tomb of Semerkhet and are present with Werner Von Croy in the Citadel of Cairo on the recovery of an ancient ceremonial tablet. They very often occur in pairs.

On occasion they are disguised by sitting still as statues, which will start to move and attack Lara when she approaches them.
