Dr. Willard

Dr. Willard is the main villain of Tomb Raider III. He is a Scottish scientist, and works for RX-Tech, a research and mining company. He first meets Lara Croft in India, after she kills one of his employees, Tony, and takes an artefact from him. He tells her about the history of the artefacts, included how they were created and where they were located, and asks her to collect them for him. After doing so, Lara meets up with Willard in Antarctica. Here, he reveals his intentions for the artifacts. He plans to use their immense powers to accelerate evolution, turning everyone and everything into mutants. Lara doesn't agree with this, and tries to stop him, but Willard manages to get away with the artefacts, making his way deep inside the RX Tech facility until he reaches his destination - the Meteorite Cavern. With Lara close behind him, he proceeds to transforming himself into an large, immortal arachnid mutant (Mutant Willard). By removing the artefacts from their postitions in the carvern, Lara manages to defeat Willard, putting an end to the depraved scientist once and for all.
