FMV

FMV is the abbreviation for Full Motion Videos. The first six Tomb Raider games (the Core Design games) include a number of FMVs, which help in plot exposition. The Crystal Dynamics have by and large scrapped FMVs, replacing them with cutscenes, which use the in-game engine to produce a cinematic.
