Furnace of the Gods is the third level of The Golden Mask add-on game for Tomb Raider II.

Summary
The level begins exactly where it left off in the previous level, with Lara sliding down a chute. She comes to rest in a network of underground caves, which have been trapped with breakable tiles, spikes and moving spiked walls. After negotiating these, Lara finds herself in a huge cavern, with the artefact that she is looking for, the Golden Mask of Tornasuk in the middle, guarded by four ice men. The latter turn into flesh-and-blood warriors when Lara picks up the masks. After Lara opens the doors leading out of the cavern, the A.V.A.L.A.N.C.H.E. mercenaries arrive, but the warriors can help Lara take care of them.
Lara then makes her way to the next part of this level, the river of gold area. This is literally a river of molten gold, which Lara navigates by jumping to and from various ledges on either bank and in the middle of the river. The molten gold is extremely hot, and, like lava, burns Lara to death if she falls in it. The golden river gradually gives way to an icy and watery area. Lara stumbles onto a tiny deserted village, where she runs across the mercenaries. Flooding the village gives her access to the final section of this level, a tall room with a volcano-like structure, from which the golden river flows out. By climbing the structure and jumping into its central crater, Lara slides down to a cage-like room in an open area. Jumping into a lower cage ends the level.
