Gun Turrets
Gun turrets appear in various levels of the Tomb Raider Series. They are automated, sometimes wall-mounted machine guns and fire consistantly at Lara. They can vary from shooting Lara as soon as she is in range or triggered by lasers.
Tomb Raider III
Gun turrets appear in Tomb Raider III in the Nevada levels High Security Compound and Area 51. They are triggered by passing through green lasers. Although they can do significant damage to Lara, they can be dealt with by shooting at them. Avoiding them is, however, the best policy.
Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation
Gun turrets appear in the Cairo levels of Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. Brought in to help stop the spread of supernatural creatures in the old Islamic part of the city, some are still operational while others are broken. They can be destroyed by shooting a small red triangle on the back of the gun, presumably some kind of wiring arrangement. They can be used both as machine guns and flamethrowers.
Tomb Raider Legend
Lara encounters a gun turret in Shogo Takamoto's penthouse in Tokyo, Japan. It is triggered by lasers in a hallway which are invisible to the naked eye. There are a few options to deal with it. One is to switch on the sprinkler system in the security booth at one end of the hallway - this will reveal the lasers as they turn alternately on and off, making progression through them much simpler. The other, less elegant method is to roll a spherical artwork down the hallway, to shield herself from the gunfire.
