Interactive Cutscenes

Interactive Cutscenes are normal cutscenes except at key moments a button prompt will appear on the screen, forcing the player to press that indicated button in order to save Lara from one of the unique deaths which were handcrafted for each IC. These IC's are also known as QTE's, or Quick-Time Events.

This gameplay mechanic has only appeared in two Tomb Raider games thus far (Legend and Anniversary). According to magazine previews and interviews it will not be returning in Underworld. It has been replaced by Adrenaline Moments, in which the screen takes on a sepia tone and time slows down for a few seconds while the player must rapidly figure out what to do using the normal game controls.
