The Amulet of Power is the first official novel based on Tomb Raider Series. Its events take place between The Last Revelation and Angel of Darkness. It is written by Mike Resnick and published by The Random House Publishing Group first time in December 2003. Its copyrights belong to Core Design.
Story
WARNING! SPOILERS! Lara Croft has been trapped beneath the ruins of Egyptian tomb. She gets saved by a man who introduces himself as Kevin Mason. Mason takes her to the hospital where they get attacked by tongueless assasins. Soon Lara finds herself in a felluca called Amenhotep chasing a powerful amulet called Amulet of Mareish, only because some dangerous people seem to think she has already found it. She must travel through desert with people she has just met and try to find the hidden talisman...
Dual Pistols
In this novel, Lara's Dual Pistols are called Black Demons. They are custom weapons made by Wilkens&Hawkings and only Lara can shoot with them, because they recognize her palm prints. This is the only known time these Black Demons have appeared.
