Description

Larazade refers to a brand of refreshing energy drinks renamed and catered to Lara Croft. Originally known as Lucozade, (commonly found in the United Kingdom and Ireland) this company briefly altered their name to Larazade and featured various commercials depicting Lara in dangerous situations, in which the product Lucozade would play an important role.

Brief History: 2001

In the late 1990's following into the new millenium, Lara Croft's popularity grew so rapidly that she recieved plenty of endorsements. It was quite common to see her many in many commercials and products ranging from Visa, Pepsi, to even assorted chocolates. Among the most popular was an energy drink named Lucozade. During a short period in 2001, the company changed their product name and labels to Larazade and distributed a plethora of commercials and drinks. These commercials depicted Croft in dangerous tombs, being chased by rabid egyptian dogs, or just relaxing with some co-stars drinking Larazade before heading off to perform more stunts.

The name change was most likely done to coincide with the summer release of the first Tomb Raider Movie. It has also been stated that this is was first major change made to the original company name in over 70 years. Contests were also held, being sponsored by the Lucozade/Larazade company, which included a "Tomb Raider" challenge in a real life version of Croft Manor.

Eventually, the company in charge of Larazade soon changed their name back to the original Lucozade. Any branded Larazade energy drinks must be quite the Collector's Item these days.
