Mummies

Mummies are embalmed corpses wrapped in linen bandages. The ones that Lara encounters in Egypt in the The Last Revelation and are all in similar states of decay - their skeletons are visible through their rotting bandages. However, unlike their other undead breathren - (the Skeletons in the levels in Alexandria) - they stand fully upright.

They are proverbially difficult to kill without explosive ammunition, which makes encountering them in the Burial Chambers in the early part of the game particularly difficult. They can be slowed with close-range shotgun fire, but ultimately it is only explosives that will finish them.

Mummies are encountered both in the burial chambers of the Tomb of Seth and later all across the tombs and pyramids of Giza.
