Obelisk of Khamoon
The Obelisk of Khamoon consists of a huge obelisk which sits in a tall, hollow tower. It is one of the major landmarks of the city and was clearly much in use by the inhabitants, as various items of furniture atest. This is the eleventh level in Tomb Raider.

Original Version
Lara does not arrive first at the obelisk, instead she must find a key get further into the complex. A room full of moveable blocks is used to conceal the room with the key. In others there are dangerous enemies such as panthers.
The rooms around the obelisk must be explored in order to find levers. These levers move bridges to the central obelisk so that various artefacts can be collected. Once all the artefacts are collected an underwater door opens at the foot of the obelisk.
Lara can now swim through the tunnels from the obelisk back to a collection of rooms with the City of Khamoon. When she makes her way back to the central area, she can place the artefacts she found in their receptacles in the smaller obelisk on an island in the middle of and ornamental pool. Once this is completed, the door to the Sanctuary of the Scion opens and allows access to the next level.
Anniversary Version
In spite of the fact that the room of moveable blocks was moved to the beginning of the City of Khamoon, the level remains very similar to the original. The premise remains the same; to lower the bridges leading the central spire of the obelisk. Again, the obelisk tower is open to the sky as a light well.
However, the level of difficulty of the traps and the number of enemies is increased - with the introduction of opening and closing blocks Lara must now time her jumps very carefully, plus spinning blade traps of a kind first seen in Ghana, a level from Tomb Raider Legend.
When Lara takes all of the artefacts out of the obelisk, the underwater tunnel leads back to the hall of statues, rather than to a new area of Khamoon.
