General Information
These are three artifacts which can be found and used in the 2003 game The Angel of Darkness.
Timeline
In the 1400's, the order of the Lux Veritatis obtained three daggers from an undisclosed location. These were the Periapt Shards.
"...Artifacts of power, crystalline shards shaped like spearheads...'Weapons of Light'..."
Their powers were said to be able to destroy any immortal being. When the Lux Veritatis defeated the immortal Black Alchemist Eckhardt in 1442, the threat of the Periapt Shards was used to stop Eckhardt from attempting to escape.
Over 600 years, the Periapt Shards were passed down the generations of the Lux Veritatis bloodline.
In 1945 during World War 2, Eckhardt escaped from his prison and sought revenge on the remainder of the Lux Veritatis order.
In 2001, an initiate called Konstantin passed on two of the Periapt Shards to his son Kurtis Trent. Eckhardt murdered Konstantin, and retrieved the third Shard which he kept safe, hidden in his Laboratory.
In 2003, Kurtis Trent passed on his two Periapt Shards to Lara Croft, who in turn discovered the third and final Shard and used the to attack Eckhardt. Joachim Karel assisted in the battle, and it was his blow that finished off the Black Alchemist.
Lux Veritatis Scripture
TRES PERIAPTI CONIUNCTI CUM IUSTITIAE IGNE MALA CINGUNT.
- Translation - "The three Periapts joined together burn with righteous light to confine evil."
