Queen of Tiwanaku
The Queen of Tiwanaku was a fictional ruler of the pre-Incan culture of Tiwanaku. Her death may have coincided with the time of the decline of the Tiwanakan Empire.
Life
The Queen of Tiwanaku's life closely resembles that of Arthur, King of the Britons. Born to the King of Tiwanaku, she was lost and raised by a warrior. She claimed her throne with the help of a shaman named Tunupa, a parallel of Merlin.
Her reign was a period of just and stable rule. After many years, there was some kind of power struggle, in which she died or was killed. She, like King Arthur, was carried off in a boat to paradise, or Avalon.
There is little evidence of female rulers in South American culture, but roles such as High Priestesses were in evidence. Clearly the Queen of Tiwanaku was one of few women in power in South American culture.
Appearance
This image of the Queen's statue, free of the crystalline structure, gives us some interesting pieces of information.
- Her headress has some hieroglyphs on it that resemble those seen in The Great Pyramid (Atlantean) in Tomb Raider Anniversary.
- Her headress also has a central boss that vaguely resembles the pendant that Amanda Evert wears to have control of the Unknown Entity.
- Her other jewellery is similar to pieces of the time, particularly her earrings and necklace. She also wears blue bangles on her wrists.
