RX-Tech Mines

RX-Tech Mines is the 17th level in Tomb Raider III. It is the 2nd level in the Antarctica section. Its most unique feature is the mine-cars in rails that Lara rides in to get around the mining facility.

Summary
As the name indicates, the level is set entirely within a mining facility in Antarctica, run by the RX-Tech company. The mining facility is clearly dedicated to excavating more of the remains of the Polynesian civilization that flourished there previously, and to getting at the heart of the meteorite itself. Whether this is a continuation of the official work undertaken by the company, as seen in the opening FMV of the game, or whether Dr. Willard has subverted it to his own needs, is not clear.
