River Ganges
In this third level of Tomb Raider III, Lara must follow The River Ganges (a real river that flows through north-eastern India, emptying near the city of Kolkata into the Bay of Bengal). Lara must track Tony along the river's length, to reach the Caves of Kaliya.

Summary
The River Ganges is an excellent example of the third instalment's claim to non-linearity. Using a quadbike to make the journey through the caves and ruins that line the waterside, Lara can choose follow the steep and narrow river banks or to leap the river and explore a set of gatehouses and a fire temple on the other side - missing one secret in the process.
The paths converge in a small canyon, and lead to a waterfall with a pool and Tony's raft in smithereens below. Lara must get down safely and enter the chambers underneath the waterfall to continue.

Notes
It is possible to follow both paths in this level by first going along the riverside route on the quadbike, then jumping over the river near the end of the level, and then following the ruins path backwards on foot (and then forwards again, in order to end the level).
