Sacred Lake
The Sacred Lake is the third sub-level of the ruins of the Temple of Karnak. It connects both to the Great Hypostyle Hall and the Temple of Karnak by way of water filled chambers sunk beneath the lake itself, and ruined passageways and courtyards.

Summary
Although both areas of the Lake are accessible from the beginning, it is only by retrieving the Sun Talisman that the path to the Tomb of Semerkhet will become available. The first time the Lake is visited, Lara's exploits will be concentrated on the main lake with the caged room in the centre, and a high-ceilinged hall to the east. Through these, she will retrieve a second Canopic Jar for use in the secret undrground chambers of the temple.
The second time the level is visited is from a secret passageway underneath the Great Hypostyle Hall. This leads to a large courtyard with a set of pylons and three doors. One of these leads to a pillared courtyard where the Tomb of Semerkhet lies.

Sacred lakes were a common feature of Egyptian temple complexes, allowing worshippers to bath and cleanse themselves before honouring the gods.
