Shiva Statues

Shiva Statues are given life to defend the Ancient Ruins against intruders, including Lara Croft. They bear a morbid appearance, but if combated correctly they can be taken down without taking damage or any trouble at all.

To combat the Shiva's scimitar crossing defense, there are two options:

One is to jump up onto a safe platform and shoot at it until it crosses its arms. Then jump down to cause it to lower its defense, and jump right back up onto the platform and start firing at it again. Repeat until the Shiva falls dead.

The other method requires direct confrontation. Running directly in the way of the Shiva will cause it to lower its defense and prepare an attack. When it does this, Lara must immediately backflip or run past the Shiva and start shooting at it until it raises its scimitars again to block her bullets. This is a much faster and less repetitive method, but puts the player at risk of possibly taking a little damage.

Death from a Shive Statue results in the Shiva lifting Lara in the air by her neck with it's two upper scimitars while slicing at her with the other four, then throwing her to the ground.

Because of Randy and Rory's location in the same room with an animated Shiva Statue and their cause of death which appears to be due to lacerations and voodoo, it is speculated that the Shivas may have been the cause of their demise.
