Tomb Raider is the ninth installment in the Tomb Raider Series, currently under development by Crystal Dynamics and to be published by Square Enix in the Fall of 2012. The game acts as a reboot to the Tomb Raider franchise, featuring an inexperienced 21-year-old Lara Croft fighting for survival after a shipwreck in the coast of Japan.
Storyline
A recently graduated from college Lara Croft takes part on the Endurance research vessel on an expedition trip in Japan, when the ship wrecks Lara finds herself in a mysterious island. Although the island has signs of inhabitants it is oddly deserted. With only her determination, inner strength, and resourcefulness to help her, Lara must overcome the challenges of a harsh and unforgiving journey that will take her across a vast island wilderness and deep into the claustrophobic and menacing underground tombs from the island's past. Up ahead is struggling in to prevail through brutal combat and treacherous adventure. She will be pushed to her limits to survive from lethal predators that stalk her every move.
On her adventure Lara is joined by Conrad Roth, captain of the Endurance vessel and former Royal Marine. Roth acts as Lara's mentor, although his full role in the story is yet to be revealed.
