Summary
Lara begins in a side street facing a small white chapel ahead of her. There are various side rooms to explore and to pick up items. Via climbing on crates and traversing ropes, she will manage to get to a larger area to the left.
This area is more ornate and might have been an actual market area rather than the storage rooms that Lara explores previously. This area is covered in decorated flooring, balconies and delicate screened windows. Lara must explore the area to find a gold coin to activate the gates into the forecourt of the chapel seen previously.
A pool here leads to part of a sewerage system, perhaps originally part of the original Roman cloaca to judge from the mechanical sentry on guard there, who is also powered by the Mars Stone. The sewer appears to have been refitted by more modern engineers, and Lara has to contend with powerful fans and currents through her journey.
She will end up in the chapel seen previously, where a mechanical statue resembling a legionary comes to life and attacks her. Once it is defeated, she is again allowed access to the pool behind the chapel, now being able to take the Venus Stone and reach the courtyard garden. Here she will confront Larson once more, and then the three Guardian Snakes.
Placing the remaining stones in the gate, she will slide down into the vaults beyond, just out of reach of the Philosopher's Stone.
