A secret society called the Illuminati made it their goal to retrive and unite both pieces of the Triangle in order to possess it's great power.

Lara Croft and the Triangle of Light

Lara combines the two pieces of the Triangle with the grain of sand found in the clock

Lara Crofts adventure begins on May 15th, the first stage of the planetary alignment, which happens every 5000 years.Later that night, Lara has a dream reminding her of what her father told her about the alignment, and an object linked to it called the Triangle of Light. After waking up, she becomes aware of a clock ticking somewhere in the house, and discovers a secret chamber beneath the stairs, in which there is a carriage clock that had spontaneously begun ticking. The clock is opened and a strange device is found inside.

A friend of Richard Croft, Lara's father, advises her to speak to a man named Manfried Powell, who may know more about the devices origins. However, Mr. Powell is actually a member of the Illuminati and is out to get the Triangle of Light as well.

Location

One half of the Triangle was located in an ancient Cambodian tomb. The other half was found in the ruined city itself, in modern-day Siberia.

Destruction

Lara fuses both parts of the Triangle along with part of the device found in the clock and manages to manipulate time so as to see her father again. He tells her she must destroy the Triangle as it is too powerful for any person to possess.
