Lara's former mentor. First seen in The Last Revelation as Lara's guide of sorts in the Cambodia levels, he is entombed, as he is ignorant towards inscriptions and the like, becoming trapped inside a sphere. Lara manages to escape the crumbling cave, but leaves Von Croy for dead. Many years later, during her ventures in Egypt, Lara encounters him again, now he's turned more or less evil, wanting the powers of Seth. He manages to acquire the amulet, trapping Lara inside a tomb, making him posessed, but Lara manages to trap him in a room in a later level, by removing the amulet from a receptacle. He is then seen in the ending cinematic, now he seems healthy, and not posessed. He is eager to help Lara, though she is very fatigued, and is trapped in the rubble.

Von Croy, believing she is dead for good, takes his hat off, and sorrowfully looks towards the rubble, head down. During the events of Tomb Raider Chronicles, Lara infiltrates his industries, managing to steal the Iris, the artefact that got him trapped in Cambodia. He appears in an in-game cutscene, apparently in a wheelchair. It is not known why he is in one, though. He is also in the end FMV, holding up Lara's backpack, saying "We've found her!".

He is a character in The Angel Of Darkness, though he is murdered in the beginning, which sets the whole storyline in motion.
