Winged Atlanteans

Tomb Raider

Winged Atlanteans would be an aerial attack force, pre-dating the concept of such a military idea by millenia. They closely resemble both Atlantean Creatures and Atlantean Centaurs, except that their arms are not as developed and have large vestigial wings sprouting from their backs.

First appearing in the Sanctuary of the Scion they attack with the classic Atlantean fireball and also attempt to knock Lara Croft from high ledges to her death. They are also skinless and also hatch from large yellow pods.

Tomb Raider Anniversary

Winged Atlanteans do not change substantially in Anniversary, but little is known about them as they are not referenced in any cutscenes. Therefore we cannot have see very much detail in their physicality.

Like Atlantean Creatures they hatch from large fleshy 'wombs', and still use fireballs to attack Lara. They could be said to resemble bats, or indeed some kind of bird - they make a harsh crowing noise rather than a batlike squeak. However, because of the lack of information available, it is difficult to make any real judgements about them.
